DELEGATE JAMES W. HUBBARD EMPHASIZES “QUALITY OF LIFE” IN RE-ELECTION BID

(Bowie, MD) – Maryland State Delegate James Hubbard says he wants to set the state of Maryland and Prince George’s County on the right path and that path includes initiatives that will protect the environment and expand health and medical care services.

A three-term member of the Maryland House of Delegates, Hubbard represents Legislative District 23-A, of Prince George’s County which includes Bowie, Glenn Dale, Lanham, Seabrook and portions of Mitchellville and Laurel.

“Prince Georges County is growing economically by leaps and bounds but we must protect and enhance the lives of its residents,” Hubbard said.

Hubbard is a member of the newly formed Health and Government Operations Committee and serves on the County Delegation County Affairs Committee.  Hubbard is also on the Maryland House of Delegates on the Environment Committee of the national Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).  He recently received the Distinguished Environmental Leadership Award from the Maryland Conservation League, The Sierra Club, Maryland clean Water Action and Maryland League of Conservation votes.

Hubbard has fought for equitable health care reform and legislation to create a shelter for victims of domestic violence.  As chair of the County Commission for Women, he was the first man in the U.S. to serve on such a commission.  He also serves on the board of directors of the Prince George’s County Workforce Services Corporation, Prince George’s Community Foundation and the County Historical and Cultural Trust.

He has received support from County Executive Jack Johnson, Congressman Albert Wynn (D-MD). S. Senator Paul Sarbanes, County Executive Jack Johnson, State Senator Leo Green, Council Member Douglas, J.J. Peters, Delegates Marvin Holmes and Mary Conroy, Sheriff Michael Jackson.
